Great job Hemanth. I personally feel that it is very difficult to get the emotions right in Mukesh’s songs and you have done really well :) .

I have heard a few of your songs and am compelled to say perhaps you need some more training. Your efforts may be sincere , your attempt to carry the tune is good and the diction is proper as well. But the enthusiasm is not carried at the same level in the song. You seem to loose the the tempo and the interest of the listener. I also notice most of the comments you get are positive without any one qualifying them and supporting them with concrete reasoning of why they like the singing etc.

Sorry if my comments are too harsh and honest. I feel most people who leave comments here are just paying lip service and if hypocrisy is what everyone expects here then my comment is out of line and please disregard it.

      Hi Sameena,

Thanks for the honest feedback. I echo what you said.

To begin with, I am a full time IT professional. Now, don’t start thinking this is an excuse. I know I am not the best. Whenever people have asked, I proudly say “My music portal is a place where I post my practice sessions.”

Music is something I learnt classically. I am just trying “not” to lose touch through this portal. That’s all. I don’t have the want to get into the music industry or anything like that. I sing for pleasure and to keep in touch. I post stuff when I am satisfied.

There is also a reason why the frequency of new songs have dropped lately (since a year). I am not satisfied with my latest renditions. This is coz I don’t practice. I don’t get time.

Hoping to stay in touch with music and sing more so I get better. Thanks again for your comments.
Would really appreciate if you could share your songs/website. I would love to listen to someone who really seems so mature and non-hypocrite.

      Cheers,
      - h

      Hi Sameena,

You seem to be a mature singer/listener. I would like to give you a piece of advice. Since you have been non-hypocritic and honest, I would like to be honest too.

I feel it was not appropriate of you to “generalize” and form an opinion that most people who left comments here are “just” paying lip service and are hypocritic. Nobody “expects” hypocrisy. Everyone is entitled to have their individual opinion and many people, including me have honestly felt that Hemanth’s singing is really good. Singers and artists always have scope to improve, which am sure, is applicable to even the greatest of musicians. You might not have liked the singing as much, that’s absolutely ok, as I understand that everybody’s choices are different. Just give out your opinion, there is no need to comment on other people’s opinion. Do your job as a listener, don’t criticize other people’s comments. You may or may not like a particular singing style/voice/whatever, but I might. So it is not right to offend others who have their opinion. Choices are subjective.

If you are such a mature person, you should have noticed the improvement in Hemanth, it is clearly noticeable if you have been listening to him since 3 years, like I (and probably others) have.

Why am I feeling that you are so harsh because you are a singer too, but not received good comments because of your bad luck may be? He he, chill, kidding.

Since you seem so mature, why have you not pointed out areas where Hemanth can improve?

When you criticize, back it up with what can be improved, just like you said other people who have responded positively have not backed their comments with concrete reasoning of why they like the singing.

Before pointing a finger at others, make sure you double check that you are right on your part.

And yes, there is a method of giving out honest opinions. That is honestly, not harshly.

You seem to have mature thoughts, but you seem immature while expressing them. Everybody has their honour to protect, so commenting and offending people is not the right thing to do.

I would like to hear you sing, if you are a singer. I would also want to state my opinion without hypocrisy and with total honesty. So, please share your blog link (if you have any).

P.S. I am not just a listener, I have learnt Hindustani Vocal for many years. Just for you to know that I am not coming out of nowhere.
